This may be late call for appreciating the 2007´s Bullion album Pet Sounds (In The Key of Dee), but he´s released his own material recently (Young Heartache EP ) so let´s take a closer look at his former work.

I might be an analphabet considering The Beach Boys catalogue but this is probably the reason why I enjoy this album so much. Mixing J Dilla beats with Pet Sounds works very well due to very smooth production and effectivity. The album has only 24 minutes, but it seems like an hour long ride. The repetitivity of certain moments are crucial and thus pushes the songs into another dimensions. "I likey´!"

seems like he´s not made any official videos yet, so you have to listen to the actual music rather than watching some moving pictures....

according to community at DiS and people attending their Glasgow concert, it seemed like Blood Red Shoes have split up, but everything seems to be all right for this moment, as for the Vienna concert they are on in May...

this is what some attendee wrote on the DiS board about the Glasgow concert:
"laura mary said 'this might be our last ever gig' about half way through the set. then she said near the end that it was their 'last ever gig' as well. i was confused. it didn't sound like a joke, but maybe they've just got a very dry sense of humour that i don't get"

everything was cleared out by Steven Ansell who stated there this comment :

sorry to disappoint the unbelievers here but we've not split up.

anyone who knows us knows that we're the kind of people who are pretty straight talking, we say what we feel when we feel it. we've been on tour for what feels like an eternity, and that coupled with the volume of work we have to do alongside playing (we're still making all the decisions about every release, artwork, every live advert or single ad, laura still designs 100% of the artwork, i'm still mixing all the recordings, we book our own hotels, write our own bulletins and mailouts, do a LOT of interviews) - basically we have a lot on. we are stressed. and we are utterly losing our minds because that's coupled with the fact we spend 24 hours a day in each other pockets which isn't that healthy.

so what i'm saying is, that's how we felt by the end of friday. it's not how we felt in the morning. this was not a publicity stunt, or a joke, or anything of the sort, it was us being 100% open about how we felt. then the next day we felt a bit silly as we sorted our shit out (tho we're still losing the plot). we're genuinely sorry for confusing anyone. we have every intention of making a lot more music, starting with the new EP we're just finishing writing and want to release later in the year.

on another note, the level of sexist bullshit on this board really saddens me. i can handle criticism and the inevitable "oh they were shit anyways" lines, but we're not living in the fucking dark ages. stuff about being a "moody bitch" or "she needs a damn good (censored)" (i don't even want to imagine what was originally written) is way out of line and as human beings you should know better. seriously it's fucking disgusting and it doesn't just happen on here it's other sites too.

debut album Bright Like Neon Love from Cut Copy is mainly about shattered memories, shattered feelings and blue haze left from unlucky romances,.. sonically, it´s wonderful record full of strong melodies and colourful yet raw arrangements..

new album, In Ghost Colours, is like a bash where you start new romances without a purpose and without knowing your own identity..
if there was one song to pick from actual revival of 80´s disco sound, it would definetely be the song Hearts On Fire for me..is it sleazy or just perfect ? i´m solving this question everytime i listen to this song,..i somehow figured out that these two characteristcs aren´t so opposite when it comes to this album..
In Ghost Colours is certainly a grower, the midsection samples and interludes between songs play very important role, making the album kind of one "set",
if i play the album as whole, it´s even better experience..

The Whitest Boy Alive @ Akropolis, Prague

according to some servers, concerts of this band are great so i decided to take a long journey to a distant city called prague and attend their show...actually it´s not true coz i was so curious about this band, that no one and nothing could put me off...

the support band attracted quite a lot of people from the attached bars but it was Erlend Øye and his fellows who caused that the lounge was packed with audience composed mainly of indie folks, foreign erasmus students and guests (jan p. muchow, jaromír švejdík, gregory finn, ondřej ježek, márdi, klára nemravová,..there was also dušan neuwerth and pavel kučera..if i listed my czech favourite band´s members who weren´t there, the list would be much shorter which could either indicate that the czech alternative music scene is very small either that there was nearly everybody) ..
they kicked it off with two unreleased songs and they continued without break with familiar guitar strokes from Golden Cage and audience went mental for the first time..the atmosphere was very tense yet relaxed and pretty enjoyable..the band seemed to enjoy the concert the same way as audience that was uncotrollably moving to the sustain rhythm of their music.. funny moment came when Erlend encouraged the people with cameras to put it down finally at least for one song and to fully take a pleasure from the music instead..in spite of the fact that the ratio of released and unreleased songs was even, i enjoyed every track they played (except one song when i was taking a pee which was also very enjoyable).. Most of the known songs were sparked with some new arrangments and Erlend´s singing was clean and sounded like on his records. Instrumentally, the band was pretty well coordinated..Erlend even showed his showman skills when he from time to time danced in his very own style..

before the concert, i had wished to sing a song Done With You with the band..i somehow managed to do so, but my voice was kinda weak coz of my permanent screaming...later on, Erlend spoke about his former visit in prague back in the 1995 on a trip with his school..after the concert me and my friend asked the drummer Sebastian Maschat about his visits in prague and he told us that he hadn´t been here until that day and that they were gonna leave early in the morning the other day due to their concert in wienna..imagine that, he is a German who is recording his records in Mexico and touring the world and he has never been to prague for a proper visit...he admitted that it was shame and he promised us to come back soon...

The set was closed with Burning but the audience screamed so loud that there had to be an encore...after that, the keyboardist Daniel Nentwig decided to celebrate the end of the concert with a short walk on his keyboards which was pretty extreme for me. Erlend then danced for a while on pre-prepared chair so they could finally wrap it up leaving peculiar feeling of satisfaction in me and in most of the attendees..

after the concert, i decided to buy their T-Shirt to compensate not buying their record..when i put it on the keyboardist who was there too told me that it was a good choice and that it´s funny how it matches the T-shirt i came to the concert with..

another facts i was fortunate to learn personally in short summary:
Erlend is not going to release any new material with Royksopp since he doesn´t get on well with them as a person.
Daniel Nentwig haven´t heard any record from Kings of Convenience. He only knows song I´d rather dance with you..
His opinion on illegal downloading is that he can do nothing about it but he thinks that it´s much bigger problem for labels than for him as a musician.
He also adviced me not to go to Bergen for studying the university since it still rains there.

Nói albínói (2003)

movie about albino guy, who has different attitude to life than all the other characters from the community he lives in..his village is situated by the sea and under big white mountains. it is freezing there nearly all year long..maybe it´s because the village is on Iceland.. the cold weather plays an important role in the movie, coz souls of every village habitant are kind of freezed and slowed down..only Noi, the albino, acts like proper teenager and rebel and tries to step out of the fate he was given by his parents, who didnt actually wanted him..only his grandma is able to take care of him..
the movie has very special poetics ...only flaw is the end that is exaggerated and somehow unreal..real shame, otherwise it would be really touching story..

Could Clint Eastwood make a movie that would convince me that he is more than just an actor with charismatic face ?
the war action of the movie is very realistic and breathtaking..but im the kind of guy who is more interested in storyline, which is very, say, mediocre..I hope that the point of view on The Battle of Iwo Jima by Japanese soldiers will be more sophisticated..i didnt learn much about mentality of fighting american soldier in this movie...and the end, where two co-soldiers accidentally meet on the road in Texas after few years is just lame...

there are special rules of writing Y/I after consonants B,F,L,M,P,S,V,Z in Czech, which means that there is a list of words from each consonant where the Y is written...like for P..(in the school, we learned this rules and words diligently when we were under ten, coz it´s very important element of our language, every consonant words took us at about 3 weeks to learn and we learned it as poem)... so in the lyrics there is NETOPÝR, SLEPÝŠ, PYL, PÝCHA, PYTEL, PYSK...which is just a sequence from the "P" poem...and this sequence sounds powerful and funny to me..so this is it,, put it together with the music and you have my special song...

This summer, I saw them live at one festival in a small tent, with few people..intense experience...

this xmass time was nearly without snow at our house..but on the last day of this year, everything changed..

me and my young sister decided to create sth from the snow immediately, coz even tomorrow would be late..
when we stacked pile of snow big enough to form sth, we recognized that the pile looked a bit like a model of the future library in prague..so we continued

Few weeks ago I saw a documentary called My architect. It was filmed by a son of Louis Kahn who tried to follow the soul of the architect in his buildings because he barely knew him by himself.
It was that sort of architect who´s visions were usually too wild for implementing.
However, there are some important buildings he managed to create...

The seeming geometrical coldness of this complex is in equilibrium with hot sun and small details...

Luis Kahn wore scars from burning his face from his childhood. This fact maybe led him to use raw panels with "cocnrete scars and holes from manufacturing" to build Salk institute..

National Assembly Building, Dhaka (Bangladesh)
